Motorola Edge 70 Max 5G: Flagship Display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 7100mAh Battery & Powerful AI Features
The Motorola Edge 70 Max 5G brings a fresh design language to Motorola’s premium smartphone lineup. Unlike the brand’s usual vegan leather back and curved displays, this model features a modern boxy design with a flat 6.8-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED display, glass back, and metal frame. The display is one of the biggest highlights, offering a 1Hz-144Hz adaptive refresh rate, an incredible 7,000 nits peak brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, Always-On Display support, and Pantone Validation for accurate colors. Combined with the 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, Hello UI based on Android 16, and an impressive AnTuTu score of over 3 million, the Edge 70 Max is built for flagship-level performance. Motorola also promises 3 years of Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates.

Gaming and multitasking are equally impressive thanks to LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, and a large 5,500mm² ArcticMesh cooling system. The massive 7,100mAh battery is another standout feature, supporting 90W TurboPower wired charging that can reach 50% in around 21 minutes and a full charge in about 51 minutes. It also introduces segment-first 25W Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging, along with wired reverse charging and bypass charging for extended gaming sessions. When it comes to core hardware like the display, processor, and battery, the Motorola Edge 70 Max offers flagship-level value for money.
The camera setup is good but not as premium as the rest of the hardware. It includes a 50MP Sony LYT-710 OIS main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus for macro shots. While there is no dedicated telephoto lens, Motorola offers 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm portrait focal lengths using the main sensor. Both the rear and 32MP front camera support 4K video recording, while the rear camera also records in 4K HDR10+ and includes useful features like Frame Match and Video Horizon Lock. Additional features include IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability, an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC support, and Motorola’s new Qira AI assistant with AI tools such as Next Move, Recall, and Catch Me Up. However, it misses out on an IR blaster, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, telephoto camera, and still uses a USB Type-C 2.0 port.
