The Redmi Note 17 5G has officially launched in China, but Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the global version. Based on previous Redmi Note releases, the international model could feature significant changes in both design and hardware. The Chinese variant introduces Redmi’s first-ever 7-inch FHD+ OLED flat display, offering a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 2160Hz instant touch sampling rate, 1,800 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Compared to the Redmi Note 15 5G Global, which featured a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display, users who prefer flat screens may find the new design more practical for gaming and everyday use.

Performance is another area where the Chinese model differs from its predecessor. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset running HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, while the Redmi Note 15 5G Global used the more powerful Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor.
