Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G: Huge 9000mAh Battery, But Will the Global Version Be Different?

The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G has officially launched in China, but Xiaomi has not yet revealed the global model. Based on previous Redmi Note launches, the international version could feature noticeable changes in both design and specifications. Looking at the Chinese variant, the display remains impressive with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED flat panel, 120Hz refresh rate, 68 billion colors, 3,500 nits peak brightness, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It also retains flagship-level durability with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance, along with 3-meter SGS-certified drop resistance, making it one of the toughest Redmi Note phones yet.

Performance has also changed compared to the global Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G. Instead of the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra, the Chinese Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset running HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. While this is a newer platform, Xiaomi has not yet confirmed whether the global model will use the same processor. Both front and rear cameras are limited to 1080p@30fps video recording, with no 4K support.
