The Oppo K14 5G (CPH2869) comes with several changes compared to its predecessor, the Oppo K13 5G, especially in durability and hardware specifications. One of the biggest upgrades in the new model is its improved durability rating. The phone now features IP66, IP68, and IP69 water and dust resistance, which is a significant improvement over the IP65 rating found on the previous generation. This means the device offers better protection against dust, water splashes, and even high-pressure water jets, making it more durable for everyday usage.

However, the performance side has seen a downgrade compared to the earlier model. The Oppo K14 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset built on a 6nm process, while the previous Oppo K13 5G featured the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor with a 4nm architecture. Although the Dimensity 6300 is still capable of handling daily tasks and casual gaming, the shift from a 4nm chipset to a 6nm processor may result in slightly lower performance and efficiency compared to the previous generation.

The display specifications have also been reduced in this generation. The Oppo K14 5G now comes with a 6.75-inch HD+ (720p) IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, replacing the 6.67-inch Full HD+ (1080p) AMOLED panel used in the Oppo K13 5G. While the new display is slightly larger and still maintains a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, the move from AMOLED to LCD and the drop in resolution may affect color vibrancy and sharpness.

In terms of camera hardware, the rear camera setup remains unchanged. The Oppo K14 5G continues to offer a 50MP primary camera paired with a 2MP secondary sensor, which should deliver similar photo quality to the previous model. However, the front camera has been downgraded from 16MP to 8MP, which may result in slightly reduced detail in selfies and video calls.

The device still retains some of the popular features from its predecessor. It continues to include dual stereo speakers for improved multimedia experience and keeps the large 7000mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting usage for heavy users. However, the charging speed has been reduced from 80W fast charging on the Oppo K13 5G to 45W fast charging on the Oppo K14 5G.

On the software side, the Oppo K14 5G runs on Android 15 out of the box and offers two years of Android OS updates along with three years of security updates. Overall, when compared to the Oppo K13 5G, the new model maintains a similar budget price segment but introduces several specification downgrades. These changes are likely influenced by increasing smartphone production costs and price adjustments in the Indian market, while still trying to keep the device affordable for budget-conscious buyers.
