The Xiaomi 17T is an upcoming premium mid-range smartphone that is scheduled to launch globally on May 28. Ahead of the official release, pre-orders have already started in Qatar through retailers like Al Anees and Jarir, where buyers currently receive a free Xiaomi Sound Party Bluetooth Speaker worth QR 399. The smartphone is also expected to arrive soon in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain, with pre-orders likely to begin before the official launch date. Based on Xiaomi’s previous release strategy, the Xiaomi 17T is unlikely to launch officially in India, as the earlier Xiaomi 15T series was also skipped in the Indian market.

The Xiaomi 17T is an upcoming premium mid-range smartphone that brings several important upgrades compared to the previous Xiaomi 15T. One of the biggest changes is the more compact 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED flat display, replacing the larger 6.83-inch panel found on the older model. Despite the smaller size, the display still offers flagship-level features including a 120Hz refresh rate, support for 68 billion colors, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and an impressive 3500 nits peak brightness for better outdoor visibility.

Performance has also improved with the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, replacing the Dimensity 8400-Ultra used in the Xiaomi 15T. The smartphone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and is expected to receive 4 years of Android OS updates along with 5 years of security updates. Xiaomi has retained the Leica-branded triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP Leica OIS main camera and a 12MP Leica ultrawide camera, while the 50MP OIS Leica telephoto camera now supports 5x optical zoom instead of the previous 2x zoom. The device also continues to support up to 4K 60fps video recording and features the same 32MP 4K front camera.

Battery life has also received a noticeable improvement, as the Xiaomi 17T now packs a larger 6500mAh battery compared to the 5500mAh battery on the Xiaomi 15T. The phone retains 67W wired fast charging support and also includes 22.5W wired reverse charging for powering other devices. In addition, Xiaomi continues to offer IP68 water and dust resistance, allowing the device to survive in water up to 3 meters deep for 30 minutes.
