One of the biggest changes is the more compact 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED flat display, replacing the larger 6.83-inch panel found on the older model. Despite the smaller size, the display still offers flagship-level features including a 120Hz refresh rate, support for 68 billion colors, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and an impressive 3500 nits peak brightness for better outdoor visibility.
Performance has also improved with the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, replacing the Dimensity 8400-Ultra used in the Xiaomi 15T. The smartphone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and is expected to receive 4 years of Android OS updates along with 5 years of security updates. Xiaomi has retained the Leica-branded triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP Leica OIS main camera and a 12MP Leica ultrawide camera, while the 50MP OIS Leica telephoto camera now supports 5x optical zoom instead of the previous 2x zoom.
