The Honor 500 5G is a mid-range smartphone powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, offering a significant upgrade from the Honor 400’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The battery capacity has also seen a major improvement, rising from 6000mAh to a massive 8000mAh. Although the 80W fast charging remains the same, the wired reverse charging capability has been upgraded from 5W to an impressive 27W. The display specifications are mostly unchanged, featuring a 6.55-inch panel with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, but peak brightness has increased from 5000 nits to 6000 nits.
In terms of cameras, the Honor 500 retains the dual-rear setup found on the Honor 400, including a 200MP CIPA 4.5 professional-grade OIS main sensor and a 12MP ultrawide lens, along with the same 50MP front camera. However, a major improvement comes in durability: while the Honor 400 offered IP66-rated protection, the new Honor 500 steps up with IP68, IP69, and IP69K water-resistance ratings, making it far more rugged and reliable for everyday use.
