The Redmi Note 15 5G (25098RA98I, 25098RA98G) is a new budget smartphone that has launched in India, with the global launch scheduled for January 15. In India, the starting price is ₹22,999, and in Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the expected price is likely to be under 1000 riyals. The phone features a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED 3D curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate, support for 68 billion colors, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and up to 3200 nits peak brightness. This is a notable upgrade from the previous Redmi Note 14 5G, which offered a smaller 6.67-inch flat display.

In terms of performance, Redmi has switched chipsets this year. The Redmi Note 14 5G used a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7025-Ultra processor, but the Redmi Note 15 5G now runs on a more efficient 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. The phone ships with Android 15 out of the box, at a time when many brands are moving toward Android 16, but Redmi compensates with a strong software promise: 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates, offering long-term usability.

The camera setup has also seen changes compared to its predecessor. The Redmi Note 14 5G featured a triple-camera system, including a 50MP OIS main camera in the Indian variant and a 108MP main camera in the global variant, along with 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro sensors. The new Redmi Note 15 5G in India now comes with a dual-camera setup consisting of a 108MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The rear camera supports 4K video recording, while the 20MP front camera continues from the previous model. The global variant may see some camera changes after launch.

Battery and features have also been upgraded. The battery capacity has increased from 5110mAh to 5520mAh, with Redmi claiming up to 5 years of battery health. It supports 45W fast wired charging, along with 18W wired reverse charging. The device still uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage and includes an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. The IP rating has been improved from IP64 to IP65 and IP66 for better dust and splash resistance. The phone also brings several AI features such as AI Erase, AI Reflection Removal, AI Sky, Gemini Live, and Circle to Search, making it a feature-packed budget 5G smartphone.
