The OnePlus Nord 4 stood out last year as the only smartphone to feature a full metal back, a design choice that resonated well with users and contributed to strong sales for the company. Building on that momentum, OnePlus has now launched the OnePlus Nord 5, though this time, they’ve moved away from the metal design. This Plus Key allows quick access to features like AI Transcribe, Save to Mind Space, Sound Toggle, Flashlight, and more, enhancing productivity and personalization.
On the hardware front, the OnePlus Nord 5 sports a 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 1 billion colors, and impressive visual clarity. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, ensuring flagship-level performance. For photography, the rear houses a 50MP Sony LYT-700 sensor with OIS for the main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, OnePlus has equipped the phone with a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor that supports autofocus. Notably, both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording at 60fps, making it ideal for high-quality content creation.
Battery life also sees a significant boost with a 6800mAh battery supported by 80W wired fast charging, though it’s worth noting that in regions like the UK and Europe, the device comes with a smaller 5200mAh battery. Despite the downgrade in build materials, the Nord 5 packs substantial improvements in performance, display, and software features, positioning it as a competitive offering in the mid-premium smartphone segment.
